Ryan and Anna-Marie in the Blueridge Mountains
Ryan and Anna-Marie’s wedding was a beautiful blend of hometown tradition and their Austin community. I traveled on a road trip from Austin, Texas to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, where the bride’s family’s church (which has been in their family for four generations!) has hosted their wedding.. Friends and family flew in from Austin to celebrate, filling the small mountain town with love and laughter. From a timeless ceremony inside the historic chapel to a joyful birdseed exit, harkening back to the classic rice throwing exit, every part of the day felt connected to both legacy and new beginnings. Afterward, the couple drove off in a classic car for portraits in the mountain air before returning to dance and celebrate on the church lawn. Documenting this travel wedding reminded me of how meaningful it is to tell the stories of couples who truly know the places and people who mean the most to their relationship!
