Getting married near Austin means couples can have the energy of the city and the peace of Texas Hill Country! Just under an hour from downtown, The Preserve at Canyon Lake combines a modern chapel with sweeping views of Canyon Lake and wide-open outdoor spaces. It’s an ideal location for couples who want an Austin area wedding venue that feel connected to nature while still elegant and timeless.

Aubreye and Evan’s wedding was full of intentional moments. They planned first looks that weren’t just about photos, but about spending time with the people closest to them — bridesmaids, parents, her brother, and finally a blindfolded moment with Evan so they could pray and share quiet words together before the ceremony. Those pauses made the day feel grounded and true to who they are.

Their portraits took full advantage of the venue’s setting. From oak trees and tall grasses to lakeside views that showed off the Texas Hill Country, every frame gave us a balance of intimate connection and big, cinematic landscapes. These are the kinds of scenes that remind me why I love being an Austin wedding photographer, the story of the couple and the story of the place belong together.

The reception carried that same mix of beauty and honesty. Union Park Design created natural tablescapes with fresh lemons and grapes, simple details that guests could lshare and enjoy throughout the night. Friends and family filled the dance floor, and when it came time for the exit, bubbles and sparklers layered together for some unforgettable wedding photos.
