Howdy y’all! I’m Thom Shaffer,

A wedding photographer working in Austin Texas, the New York City Metro, and wherever else people’s beautiful stories take me!

I specialize in what’s called a documentary style of wedding photography. This means capturing your day in a non-performative, organic, just as it happened kind of way. I encourage my couples to enjoy their wedding just the way they want it; turning away from the pressure that the wedding industry can put on you to perform and meet perceived expectations.

I work hard to get to know you through heartfelt questions and an empathetic approach that draws out all the ways you love each other in a way that you’ll cherish through your photos forever.

What I offer

I offer wedding photography packages ranging from $5,700 to $7,500. These’ll give you 8-10 hours of coverage from me, a second photographer who’s inspired me through their own work, and film photography (my personal favorite); all depending on your needs and your dreams for your big day! And no matter which package you book, you’ll also get my support any time you have questions, or a fresh idea!
